Mentor Commitments
As a Greenhouse mentor, you will be expected to follow through with the following commitments:
- Meet with your mentees on a regular basis to process each session of the course that you’ve agreed to lead them through. Depending on the length of the course and the frequency with which you decide to meet, this could take as little as six weeks or as long as nine months. We’d like you to meet somewhere between once a week and once a month. You and your mentee will work together to determine what works best for you both. If you’re unsure, I recommend starting off meeting every other week. This can take place in person, on the phone, or via video chat but, when possible, we highly recommend having an in-person meeting at least once a month.
- Aside from your meetings, you’re expected to become familiar enough with the course material that you’ll be able to engage in discussion, demonstrate the imitation skills, and issue the innovation challenges that have been provided.
- After you meet, quickly email or text Pastor Jessica so she can keep a record of both participation and progress.
- Periodically check in with your mentor coach to keep them updated on how things are going, especially if you’re having any struggles.
- Pray for your mentee on a weekly basis outside of your time together.
- Consider ways that you can include them in the everyday fabric of your life.
- If you are unable to fulfill these commitments at any point throughout the course, notify Pastor Jessica so she can find a replacement.
